"Two stirring spiritual experiences changed him and his ministry forever: (1) In 1893 while attending one of the famous "higher life" conferences at the resort town of Keswick, the equivalent of an American camp meeting, he testified to being sanctified or baptized in the Spirit, as taught by the Keswick preachers. (2) A greater turning point in his life occured in 1907. He heard that people were receiving the Holy Spirit at Sunderland and decided to go and see for himself. Convinced that he had already gotten the Pentecostal Baptism, he grew discouraged while attending the services at All Saints' (Anglican) Church. Though "slain in the Spirit" several times, his spiritual hunger became even more intense.
"Finally, after 4 days of seeking to speak in tongues, he decided to head home but first stopped by the vicarage to say good-bye. Mary Boddy, the vicar's wife, said, "Brother Wigglesworth, it is not the tongues you need but the Baptism. If you will allow God to baptize you, the other will be all right." Although protesting that he had previously been baptized, he asked her to lay hands on him and pray that he would receive. After she did so and unexpectedly left the room, "the fire fell," he recalled. "The joy was so great that when I came to utter it my tongue failed, and I began to worship God in other tongues as the Spirit gave me utterance."

“I returned to the front office, and found that the fire that I had made of large wood was nearly burned out. But as I turned and was about to take a seat by the fire, I received a mighty baptism with the Holy Ghost. Without any expectation of it, without ever having the thought in my mind that there was any such thing for me, without any recollection that I had ever heard the thing mentioned by any person in the world, the Holy Spirit descended upon me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul. I could feel the impression like a wave of electricity going through and through me. Indeed, it seemed to come in waves and waves of liquid love. It seemed like the very breath of God.

My Friend Lynn
Lynn was raised by a father that did not instill value in him, hence Lynn had very low esteem which produced in him an inferiority complex. However, he eventually received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Although Lynn had become a Christian, he still had an inferiority complex, but one day while sitting in his chair, the Lord baptized him with the fire of God and the fire instantly purged him of an inferiority complex. Now in the place of a fear of rejection, he has the love of God for souls. Perfect love casteth out fear (1 John 4:18). Praise God!
Hunger and Thirst

One day the Lord began to show me there was more to the Christian walk than just receiving the Holy Ghost and speaking in tongues. He showed me in Matthew 3:11 there was a baptism of power and fire I was missing. Along with this power and fire came the love of God. I had the Holy Ghost and tongues, but I was missing the power, fire and love. He showed me to minister to people with mighty supernatural results, I would need the power, fire and love of the Holy Ghost.
Whether you are a teacher, stay-at-home mom, student, real estate broker, professional athlete or in the ministry full time, God wants you living and walking in such power, fire and love that wherever you are, your presence is making a difference in people's lives because of the Christ in you, the Hope of Glory. You are to bring healing, deliverance and salvation to people wherever God leads. You are to live and walk in the supernatural glory of God because that is what you were created for. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue" (2 Peter 1:3). Doing the works of God, worshipping and giving God the glory, that is what it is all about. But you might say, "Is that scriptural? Isn't that only for those in full time ministry?" No. "But is it really God's will for every Christian to walk in such mighty power, fire and love?" Oh yes. Are you saved? Did you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Are you a believer? Then you qualify:
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17-18).
According to Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18a God cannot lie and what Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18 is therefore true: In the name of Jesus you can cast out demons, speak with new tongues and lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. As you receive God’s mighty baptism of power, fire and love, you will do great exploits for God, casting out demons, healing the sick, cleansing the lepers and raising the dead. There is a world of lost and hurting people out there waiting for you to share the good news of the Gospel, waiting to be saved, healed and delivered. Seek God’s face, seek His direction for your life.

That done, let me show you what I learned so you can begin walking in God’s power, fire and love to see people miraculously healed, delivered and coming to Christ.
Let me pose a question. What is the power of the Holy Ghost? It is the power of God. God is omnipotent, meaning He has unlimited power. He is able to do anything within the realm of His holiness. There are some things He cannot do. He cannot lie. This Holy Ghost power has graciously been given to the Church through Jesus Christ. This Holy Ghost dynamite power released through God’s sons and daughters as they minister to people, brings forth healings, miracles, deliverances and resurrections that draw people to Jesus Christ to be saved.
Next question. What is the fire of God? The fire of God is one of the aspects of God. His fire is what burns out the impurities in your life that would hinder God from manifesting His power, love and glory through you. "God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29). To walk in the presence of God is to walk in an awareness of God living in and through you. His passion motivates you to reach out in love to a world needing the Savior. To repeat, the purifying fire of God burns out of you those carnal things that would hinder God’s power from being manifested through you to perform miracles, healings and resurrections that attract sinners to Christ. Fear, timidity and doubt must flee because the fire and love of God give you a boldness and faith to face any opposition, even death. When you have been baptized in God's power, fire and love, you will walk in the supernatural where the atmosphere for miracles is present.
One morning the Lord revealed to me that to walk in God’s power, fire and love, I must have the right motive or I could fall into sin, such as pride. It’s not about you and it’s not about me. It’s about Him, Jesus Christ. He is to get all the glory. We are to desire the baptism of the Holy Ghost power, fire and love because the result will please our Heavenly Father because souls will be saved, healed and delivered. We are to love God so much that we are always about our Father’s business advancing the kingdom of God.
There was one Christian young man upset because even though he was reading his bible, praying and seemingly doing all the right things, the people he had ministered to were getting touched by God and he wasn't. The Lord told him he wasn't hungry enough. Get hungry and thirsty for God. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).
So, how do you receive God’s miraculous power, fire and love to minister life to people? You receive it like anything else you receive from God. You receive it by faith. Simply ask God the Father in Jesus’ name for the baptism of the Holy Ghost with power, fire and love. Ask in faith and you will receive according to Mark 11:24 and John 16:23. When you pray you are to believe your petition has been granted. Faith says, “I have it, it belongs to me now.” Doubt says, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
There are other ways you can use your faith to approach and receive from God. You can cry out to God for His power, fire and love and He will answer you. Also by faith, you can become so hungry, thirsty and desperate for God's power, fire and love that He will respond to your heart's desire. How thirsty should you become? Imagine a man in a hot desert for three days without water desiring a glass of water. That's how thirsty. Pray and ask God the Father in Jesus' name to create a great hunger and thirst in you for the mighty baptism of Holy Ghost power, fire and love. Then just expect the manifestation.
And then in Psalm 84:11b it says if you walk uprightly before God, He will not withhold any good thing from you. Being baptized with the Holy Ghost's power, fire and love is a good thing. Remind God of this promise and that you are walking uprightly before Him. Begin thanking, praising and worshipping Him that He has not withheld from you the good thing, the baptism of the Holy Ghost with power, fire and love.
May your hope for God's miraculous power, fire and love become a reality as you pray and believe you have received your prayer granted. "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).

How to Release Your Faith in God's Promises

First of all, what is faith? Faith is acting on the Word of God. Faith is a smile. If you really believe God heard and answered your prayer the moment you prayed, then you would smile. Faith is always past tense. Faith says, "I have prayed and have believed (past tense) I have received what I prayed for." Doubt is future tense. Doubt says, "I am believing (future tense) for what I prayed for and I have not received it." So, faith says, "I've got it, even though I can't see it." Doubt says, "I don't have it because I can't see it." See the difference?
The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 that faith is a substance. “Now faith is the substance of things of hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This faith, this substance, is what you need to give substance to what you desire, what you hope to come to pass. If your hope has no substance, it will just stay hope and will never become reality. It’s like a balloon without air.
So how does your faith give substance to your hope? Your faith gives substance to your hope when you release your faith. How do you release your faith? You release your faith through works. I’ll explain. It is written in James 2:17, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” What are works? Works are corresponding actions and deeds of obedience. Corresponding actions and deeds of obedience would be your words, actions and celebration that you exhibit when you release your faith for something you have hoped to receive.
Let me give you an example of works in action. Let’s say a very honest and wealthy friend of yours hands you a check for thirty million dollars. What would you do? Like most normal people, you would probably shout, jump for joy and celebrate. When your bank statement would show up in the mail a week later, would you shout, jump for joy and celebrate? No, because you already did your shouting and celebrating the moment your friend handed you the check, not when your bank statement showed up.
It is the same way when you ask God for something. You must believe God heard and answered your prayer the moment you prayed. The moment you are done praying, you shout, jump for joy and celebrate even though what you have believed for has not manifested yet, shown up. That’s releasing your faith through words, actions and celebration. And your works, your words, actions and celebration give substance to what you hope for. Eventually your hope will become reality. That’s how faith works, that’s how you release your faith through words, actions and celebration.
Remember in Luke 5:4 when Jesus told Peter and his fishing partners to launch their nets for a great catch even though they had fished all night and caught nothing. Peter could have had faith and believed the words of Jesus, but not released his faith by acting on Jesus‘ words. But Peter and his partners believed and acted on what Jesus said and they launched their nets into the lake and caught a great multitude of fish. Their actions were their works that released their faith for their hope, a multitude of fish. Their works completed their faith. Faith without works “is dead , being alone” according James 2:17.
There is one other work, a very powerful work, that will help to release your faith. And that is sowing a financial seed where God instructs you to sow. It is an offering above and beyond your tithe (ten percent of your income). Let me explain. Let’s say you prayed and asked God to give you boldness to share the Gospel with people you might come in contact with at work or in the marketplace. Along with your prayer for boldness, you would also sow a financial seed. You would name your seed “boldness.” The moment you prayed and sowed your seed, you would immediately shout, jump for joy and celebrate because you believed God heard and answered your prayer and granted you a harvest of boldness. Your sown seed would help to give substance to what you hoped to see come to pass, boldness in your Christian walk. There is one other thing I must mention concerning faith. When you get into God's presence, God's faith becomes your faith. You have faith for the impossible. You believe God's promises with no doubt in your heart. The Lord told this man of God to say this and say it often: "There is no lack of faith with me, when I come to the end of my faith, then God the Father gives me the faith of Christ and it is impossible for me not to believe." You were created to walk in the supernatural. You were created to walk in victory in every area of life through Christ. There is nothing you cannot have when you are walking in the supernatural power of God. Seek and believe God for the baptism of power, fire and love so you can take God's supernatural power to your generation so they to can walk in the supernatural to set the people free from poverty, sickness and sin.
Very Important Note: Be patient and stay in faith and your answer(s) will manifest (appear). One man who was trusting in God's Word to come to pass in his life became discouraged. He told the Lord he was declaring God's Word, His promises, but he just didn't believe they were true in him. The Lord told him to continue declaring God's Word and eventually God's Word would become real in him. So be patient and continue to act like God's Word is true in you by releasing your faith through your words, actions, celebration and seed sown which will give substance to your hope, your desire, God's promises.
And there you have it. How to release your faith in God's promises. Make sure it is all right with your doctor to jump up and down. I don't want you to hurt yourself when you are releasing your faith in celebration. May all your hopes and dreams be fulfilled though the release of your faith in God's Word. God bless you as you walk by faith and not by sight.

Rodney Howard-Browne was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. In 1987 he, his wife and three children immigrated to the United States. America has been his mission field. He received salvation through Jesus Christ at the age of five and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost when he was eight. He grew up in a Pentecostal home where he witnessed the supernatural power of God. His mother broke her arm and their pastor prayed for her and the arm was instantly healed. At times when his father would begin to pray over their evening meal, he would begin to prophesy. His mother would put the food in the oven knowing they would eat later because it was time for church in the house.
As he grew up, he wanted more of God. He got upset when he noticed people he had been ministering to were being touched by God, but he wasn’t. The Lord told him he was not hungry enough. The Lord also told Him that he would have to receive the baptism of power and fire like everyone else. That meant receiving it by faith and having a hungry and thirsty heart. He fulfilled those two requirements and got so hungry and desperate for God that he began to cry out to God. The result was the mighty Holy Ghost baptism of power and fire. The fire of God coursed through his body, burning out things that would hinder God’s work through him. He was never the same.
Here is his own account of his mighty Holy Ghost baptism of power and fire:
"As I prayed that day, I told the Lord, “Either You come down here and touch me, or I am going to come up there and touch You.” I was desperate. I must have called out to God for about twenty minutes that day. Suddenly the fire of God fell on me. It started on my head and went right down to my feet. His power burned in my body and stayed like that for three whole days. I thought I was going to die. I thought He was going to kill me.
I thought, He has heard my prayer, “Either You come down here and touch me or I will come up there and touch You,” and now He has come down
here and touched me and He is going to kill me and take me home. I was really praying, “Lord, I am too young to die.” In the forth day, I am not praying, “O Lord, send your glory,” I am praying, “Please lift it off me so that I can bear it.” I was plugged into heaven’s electric light supply and since then my desire has been to go and plug other people in.
My whole body was on fire from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Out of my belly began to flow a river of living water. I began to laugh uncontrollably and then I began to weep and then speak with other tongues."
Today Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne goes throughout the country setting people ablaze with the fire of God. He is a fire starter, bringing revival wherever he goes. God wants you on fire to get other people on fire for God. Will you heed the call and allow God to baptize you with the mighty Holy Ghost with power and fire.

Whether you are a teacher, stay-at-home mom, student, real estate broker, professional athlete or in the ministry full time, God wants you living and walking in such power, fire and love that wherever you are, your presence is making a difference in people's lives because of the Christ in you, the Hope of Glory. You are to bring healing, deliverance and salvation to people wherever God leads. You are to live and walk in the supernatural glory of God because that is what you were created for. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). "According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue" (2 Peter 1:3). Doing the works of God, worshipping and giving God the glory, that is what it is all about. But you might say, "Is that scriptural? Isn't that only for those in full time ministry?" No. "But is it really God's will for every Christian to walk in such mighty power, fire and love?" Oh yes. Are you saved? Did you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Are you a believer? Then you qualify:
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17-18).
According to Titus 1:2 and Hebrews 6:18a God cannot lie and what Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18 is therefore true: In the name of Jesus you can cast out demons, speak with new tongues and lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. As you receive God’s mighty baptism of power, fire and love, you will do great exploits for God, casting out demons, healing the sick, cleansing the lepers and raising the dead. There is a world of lost and hurting people out there waiting for you to share the good news of the Gospel, waiting to be saved, healed and delivered. Seek God’s face, seek His direction for your life.
First of all, before you go on with this article, if you have not done so, you need to be saved by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Click Receive Salvation now and then come back here. That done, let me show you what I learned so you can begin walking in God’s power, fire and love to see people miraculously healed, delivered and coming to Christ.
Let me pose a question. What is the power of the Holy Ghost? It is the power of God. God is omnipotent, meaning He has unlimited power. He is able to do anything within the realm of His holiness. There are some things He cannot do. He cannot lie. This Holy Ghost power has graciously been given to the Church through Jesus Christ. This Holy Ghost dynamite power released through God’s sons and daughters as they minister to people, brings forth healings, miracles, deliverances and resurrections that draw people to Jesus Christ to be saved.
Next question. What is the fire of God? The fire of God is one of the aspects of God. His fire is what burns out the impurities in your life that would hinder God from manifesting His power, love and glory through you. "God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29). To walk in the presence of God is to walk in an awareness of God living in and through you. His passion motivates you to reach out in love to a world needing the Savior. To repeat, the purifying fire of God burns out of you those carnal things that would hinder God’s power from being manifested through you to perform miracles, healings and resurrections that attract sinners to Christ. Fear, timidity and doubt must flee because the fire and love of God give you a boldness and faith to face any opposition, even death. When you have been baptized in God's power, fire and love, you will walk in the supernatural where the atmosphere for miracles is present.
One morning the Lord revealed to me that to walk in God’s power, fire and love, I must have the right motive or I could fall into sin, such as pride. It’s not about you and it’s not about me. It’s about Him, Jesus Christ. He is to get all the glory. We are to desire the baptism of the Holy Ghost power, fire and love because the result will please our Heavenly Father because souls will be saved, healed and delivered. We are to love God so much that we are always about our Father’s business advancing the kingdom of God.
There was one Christian young man upset because even though he was reading his bible, praying and seemingly doing all the right things, the people he had ministered to were getting touched by God and he wasn't. The Lord told him he wasn't hungry enough. Get hungry and thirsty for God. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6).
So, how do you receive God’s miraculous power, fire and love to minister life to people? You receive it like anything else you receive from God. You receive it by faith. Simply ask God the Father in Jesus’ name for the baptism of the Holy Ghost with power, fire and love. Ask in faith and you will receive according to Mark 11:24 and John 16:23. When you pray you are to believe your petition has been granted. Faith says, “I have it, it belongs to me now.” Doubt says, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
There are other ways you can use your faith to approach and receive from God. You can cry out to God for His power, fire and love and He will answer you. Also by faith, you can become so hungry, thirsty and desperate for God's power, fire and love that He will respond to your heart's desire. How thirsty should you become? Imagine a man in a hot desert for three days without water desiring a glass of water. That's how thirsty. Pray and ask God the Father in Jesus' name to create a great hunger and thirst in you for the mighty baptism of Holy Ghost power, fire and love. Then just expect the manifestation.
And then in Psalm 84:11b it says if you walk uprightly before God, He will not withhold any good thing from you. Being baptized with the Holy Ghost's power, fire and love is a good thing. Remind God of this promise and that you are walking uprightly before Him. Begin thanking, praising and worshipping Him that He has not withheld from you the good thing, the baptism of the Holy Ghost with power, fire and love.
May your hope for God's miraculous power, fire and love become a reality as you pray and believe you have received your prayer granted. "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).

How to Release Your Faith in God's Promises

First of all, what is faith? Faith is acting on the Word of God. Faith is a smile. If you really believe God heard and answered your prayer the moment you prayed, then you would smile. Faith is always past tense. Faith says, "I have prayed and have believed (past tense) I have received what I prayed for." Doubt is future tense. Doubt says, "I am believing (future tense) for what I prayed for and I have not received it." So, faith says, "I've got it, even though I can't see it." Doubt says, "I don't have it because I can't see it." See the difference?
The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 that faith is a substance. “Now faith is the substance of things of hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This faith, this substance, is what you need to give substance to what you desire, what you hope to come to pass. If your hope has no substance, it will just stay hope and will never become reality. It’s like a balloon without air.
So how does your faith give substance to your hope? Your faith gives substance to your hope when you release your faith. How do you release your faith? You release your faith through works. I’ll explain. It is written in James 2:17, “Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” What are works? Works are corresponding actions and deeds of obedience. Corresponding actions and deeds of obedience would be your words, actions and celebration that you exhibit when you release your faith for something you have hoped to receive.
Let me give you an example of works in action. Let’s say a very honest and wealthy friend of yours hands you a check for thirty million dollars. What would you do? Like most normal people, you would probably shout, jump for joy and celebrate. When your bank statement would show up in the mail a week later, would you shout, jump for joy and celebrate? No, because you already did your shouting and celebrating the moment your friend handed you the check, not when your bank statement showed up.
It is the same way when you ask God for something. You must believe God heard and answered your prayer the moment you prayed. The moment you are done praying, you shout, jump for joy and celebrate even though what you have believed for has not manifested yet, shown up. That’s releasing your faith through words, actions and celebration. And your works, your words, actions and celebration give substance to what you hope for. Eventually your hope will become reality. That’s how faith works, that’s how you release your faith through words, actions and celebration.
Remember in Luke 5:4 when Jesus told Peter and his fishing partners to launch their nets for a great catch even though they had fished all night and caught nothing. Peter could have had faith and believed the words of Jesus, but not released his faith by acting on Jesus‘ words. But Peter and his partners believed and acted on what Jesus said and they launched their nets into the lake and caught a great multitude of fish. Their actions were their works that released their faith for their hope, a multitude of fish. Their works completed their faith. Faith without works “is dead , being alone” according James 2:17.
There is one other work, a very powerful work, that will help to release your faith. And that is sowing a financial seed where God instructs you to sow. It is an offering above and beyond your tithe (ten percent of your income). Let me explain. Let’s say you prayed and asked God to give you boldness to share the Gospel with people you might come in contact with at work or in the marketplace. Along with your prayer for boldness, you would also sow a financial seed. You would name your seed “boldness.” The moment you prayed and sowed your seed, you would immediately shout, jump for joy and celebrate because you believed God heard and answered your prayer and granted you a harvest of boldness. Your sown seed would help to give substance to what you hoped to see come to pass, boldness in your Christian walk. There is one other thing I must mention concerning faith. When you get into God's presence, God's faith becomes your faith. You have faith for the impossible. You believe God's promises with no doubt in your heart. The Lord told this man of God to say this and say it often: "There is no lack of faith with me, when I come to the end of my faith, then God the Father gives me the faith of Christ and it is impossible for me not to believe." You were created to walk in the supernatural. You were created to walk in victory in every area of life through Christ. There is nothing you cannot have when you are walking in the supernatural power of God. Seek and believe God for the baptism of power, fire and love so you can take God's supernatural power to your generation so they to can walk in the supernatural to set the people free from poverty, sickness and sin.
Very Important Note: Be patient and stay in faith and your answer(s) will manifest (appear). One man who was trusting in God's Word to come to pass in his life became discouraged. He told the Lord he was declaring God's Word, His promises, but he just didn't believe they were true in him. The Lord told him to continue declaring God's Word and eventually God's Word would become real in him. So be patient and continue to act like God's Word is true in you by releasing your faith through your words, actions, celebration and seed sown which will give substance to your hope, your desire, God's promises.
And there you have it. How to release your faith in God's promises. Make sure it is all right with your doctor to jump up and down. I don't want you to hurt yourself when you are releasing your faith in celebration. May all your hopes and dreams be fulfilled though the release of your faith in God's Word. Man on Fire for God
Rodney Howard-Browne was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. In 1987 he, his wife and three children immigrated to the United States. America has been his mission field. He received salvation through Jesus Christ at the age of five and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost when he was eight. He grew up in a Pentecostal home where he witnessed the supernatural power of God. His mother broke her arm and their pastor prayed for her and the arm was instantly healed. At times when his father would begin to pray over their evening meal, he would begin to prophesy. His mother would put the food in the oven knowing they would eat later because it was time for church in the house.
As he grew up, he wanted more of God. He got upset when he noticed people he had been ministering to were being touched by God, but he wasn’t. The Lord told him he was not hungry enough. The Lord also told Him that he would have to receive the baptism of power and fire like everyone else. That meant receiving it by faith and having a hungry and thirsty heart. He fulfilled those two requirements and got so hungry and desperate for God that he began to cry out to God. The result was the mighty Holy Ghost baptism of power and fire. The fire of God coursed through his body, burning out things that would hinder God’s work through him. He was never the same.
Here is his own account of his mighty Holy Ghost baptism of power and fire:
"As I prayed that day, I told the Lord, “Either You come down here and touch me, or I am going to come up there and touch You.” I was desperate. I must have called out to God for about twenty minutes that day. Suddenly the fire of God fell on me. It started on my head and went right down to my feet. His power burned in my body and stayed like that for three whole days. I thought I was going to die. I thought He was going to kill me.
I thought, He has heard my prayer, “Either You come down here and touch me or I will come up there and touch You,” and now He has come down
here and touched me and He is going to kill me and take me home. I was really praying, “Lord, I am too young to die.” In the forth day, I am not praying, “O Lord, send your glory,” I am praying, “Please lift it off me so that I can bear it.” I was plugged into heaven’s electric light supply and since then my desire has been to go and plug other people in.
My whole body was on fire from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. Out of my belly began to flow a river of living water. I began to laugh uncontrollably and then I began to weep and then speak with other tongues."
Today Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne goes throughout the country setting people ablaze with the fire of God. He is a fire starter, bringing revival wherever he goes. Charles G. Finney (1792 - 1875)
Started Second Great Awakening and Father of Modern Revivalism
Charles G. Finney was born in 1792 and grew up in Oneida County, New York. He taught in New Jersey a few years and returned to New York for his mother had become very ill. He studied law and become a Christian. He was ordained in 1824. He became a Presbyterian minister, leader of the Second Great Awakening in the United States, called The Father of Modern Revivalism. Here is his account of his Holy Ghost baptism of power and fire:
“But as I turned and was about to take a seat by the fire, I received a mighty baptism of the Holy Ghost. Without any expectation of it, without ever having the thought in my mind that there was any such thing for me, without any recollection that I had ever heard the thing mentioned by any person in the world, the Holy Spirit descended upon me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul.
I could feel the impression, like a wave of electricity, going through and through me. Indeed it seemed to come in waves and waves of liquid love for I could not express it in any other way. It seemed like the very breath of God. I can recollect distinctly that it seemed to fan me, like immense wings. No words can express the wonderful love that was shed abroad in my heart. I wept aloud with joy and love; and I do not know but I should say, I literally bellowed out the unutterable gushings of my heart. These waves came over me, and over me, and over me, one after the other, until I recollect I cried out, “I shall die if these waves continue to pass over me.” I said, “Lord, I cannot bear any more;” yet I had no fear of death.”
